One of the four download options offered by embedupload is identified as an "attack" site. A second requires you to use a download manager of doubtful reputation. The third does not recognise the embedupload url. And the fourth downloads at around 25 kbps, with an estimated download time of over three hours. After downloading a number of other - usually excellent! - DSCH uploads without any problem, this is a real disappointment, David.
I really don't know any other of Arvid's Shostakovich. Father and son both share a keen ear for balance and clean lines, but based on this recording (and it may be the German orchestra), the father seems to build the sound from the bottom up, which is a quality like!

DeleteThanks a lot for this. From what little I have heard by Arvid, I have to agree with you David, as regards father v son
ReplyDeleteMany thanks!
